Matai and Kauri went to Aokautere School to watch a science magic show. When we got there we sat on a chair and waited. The man who was performing it did all sorts of things. He made elephant toothpaste. He made red balls suddenly appear and made very large bubbles and lots more. He also asked two people from our school to do something with him. Overall I think the crowd really enjoyed the show.

Glyn Harper, a New Zealand author, is visiting Tiritea School with his new book Jim’s Letters. We are learning about ANZAC Day and we are thinking about questions to ask Mr Harper. We have used the KQL table where K = prior knowledge; Q = questions we want to ask; L = new learning.
Hannah and Abbie Taylor’s granddad, Mr Ian Taylor has crafted two magnificent clocks for Tiritea School. The timber is totara, from the original gate posts dating back to 1895.
To the three teams who participated in the Fitzherbert Cluster Touch Tournament last week. It was really hot, the ground was as hard as concrete, but the children played with determination and brought back the shield! The Year 1/2 team was 1st = in their grade; the Year 3/4 team was 3rd; and the Year 5/6 team won their grade. Many thanks to Alex James and all the parents who came and supported the students, and managed and refereed games. It was a great morning.
